Fr. Gus Kandathil founded Save A Family Plan in 1965 and sixty-one years later, his focused, passionate commitment to the poor in India remains at the heart of our organization.

Fr. Gus passed away 25 years ago on July 18, 2001.  On his tombstone in Vaikom, Kerala, are written the words:  “The Poor Deserve the Best.”
