Caring Creatures

Rebecca Renaud, founder of The Little Shop of Handmade Creatures, sells unique handcrafted ‘Caring Creatures’, and donates a portion of the proceeds to support the programs of Save A Family Plan (SAFP).

Rebecca is a 24-year-old woman on the autism spectrum who is a passionate art creator. She is a creative sewer who began her business at 14 years of age when she started making handmade stuffies, first from paper patterns, then from fabric.

While she found it challenging to sew every piece of the stuffie she wanted to create and assemble it together, this was the starting point of the unique Creatures she would create years later. After completing sewing lessons, Rebecca expanded from simple hand stitching techniques, to making one stuffie almost every two days in various sizes using a sewing machine.

She specializes in designing a variety of creatures including ponies, sea dragons, dragons, hydras, spiders, cats, people, aliens, and more. All of her Creatures are made from new fleece and felt fabric, embroidery thread, stuffing and thread.

By partnering with Save A Family Plan, Rebecca and her ‘Caring Creatures’ are empowering families in India to overcome extreme poverty. SAFP is very grateful to Rebecca for making a lasting impact in the lives of many families who will benefit from Children’s Education, Clean Water Filters, Housing & Toilet Construction, Small Business Training & Employment Initiatives and Clean Energy Projects (Solar Panels & Biogas Stoves).
